Introduction
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the youth wing of the Armed Forces with its headquarters at New Delhi. It is open to school and college students on a voluntary basis and is a tri-services organization comprising the Army, Navy, and Air Wing.
It is engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. However, there is no liability for active military service after completing the course.

Aims of NCC
- Develop character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure, and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens.
- Create a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities to serve the Nation in all walks of life.
- Provide an environment to motivate youth to join the Armed Forces.
- Promote unity and a sense of national pride.

- Encourage cadets to contribute to national development with patriotic commitment.
- Promote respect for diversity in religion, language, culture, and region.
- Instill commitment to constitutional values and social cohesion.
- Enable participation in community development and social programs.
- Promote a healthy lifestyle free from substance abuse.
- Develop self-awareness, honesty, perseverance, and the value of hard work.
- Encourage respect for knowledge and wisdom.
